Bonaparte Main Street, in cooperation with building owners, works to match prospective buyers with buildings for sale in the National Historic District. Several of The Historic Buildings are currently available. They are stabilized and ready for business development.
Bonaparte is part of the Main Street Iowa Program, which has been adapted from The National Main Street Center's "Main Street Approach" to downtown revitalization. Main Street is founded on the goal of Economic Development within the context of Historic Preservation. The "Main Street Approach" utilizes four elements which are integrated to create a positive image for the downtown district: through organization, promotions, design, and business improvement.
